What it is
Acting Technique for Dancers is a specialized application of techniques of the actor designed to enhance dance performance, improving the dancer’s ability to initiate and sustain emotional dynamics, stage presence, intensity and depth of intention. It is applicable to any style of dance, and can be adapted to all ages and levels.
The work can be tailored to the individual or an ensemble, structured for a workshop of any length or programmed for ongoing classes. Dancers learn to communicate a palpable sense of place and time, create and develop truthful characters possessing personal stories within a larger narrative, deepen intention and heighten the dramatic moment.
